Big Data Developer
Location: Bydgoszcz

Your responsibilities:

  • developing data analytics, data mining and reporting solutions using AWS EMR services (Hive, Hadoop, Spark, PrestoDB),

  • developing streaming data processing pipelines using the Kafka Streams Framework,

  • writing efficient code to extract, transform, load, and query very large datasets, including unstructured data,

  • cooperating with DevOps to build automatic deployments of processing pipelines,

  • helping formulate use cases from potentially ambiguous business requirements.

Our requirements:

  • basic knowledge of Big data technologies like Hive, PrestoDB, Spark, Spark SQL, Hadoop MapReduce jobs, Scala, Python,

  • proven experience working with columnar databases, ORC/Parquet formats, Datasets & DataFrames concepts,

  • good knowledge of the AWS ecosystem with special demand of EMR services,

  • proven experience with Docker and containers orchestration tools (Docker Swarm is preferred),

  • familiarity with Kafka.

Surprise us with these additional assets:

  • experience or any knowledge of streaming processing frameworks like Kafka Streams, Spark Structured Streaming or Flink,

  • experience with performance tuning and concepts such as Bucketing, Sorting and Partitioning,

  • hands-on experience in setting up, configuring and tuning Kafka,

  • experience in Python and Shell scripting for automation of AWS EMR-related tasks,

  • working experience in Designing, Building & Implementing solutions using Spark,

  • exposure to Graph Databases (gremlin query language),

  • ability to integrate UDFs with Spark jobs,

  • extensive SQL knowledge with an understanding of performance and query optimization techniques.
